The largest segment of Tesla based on net revenue is automotives, which includes the revenue generated from automotive sales and leasing as well as the revenue from regulatory credits. In fiscal 2022, the automotive segment of Tesla generated $71.5 billion in net revenue which includes $67.2 billion from automotive sales. Tesla also generated $1.8 billion from regulatory credits and $2.5 billion from automotive leasing. Its revenue from services and other segment was $6.1 billion in 2022 and $3.9 billion from energy generation and storage products. The company enjoyed 51% revenue growth in 2022 compared to the prior year and 52% growth in its automotive sales. The total revenue of Tesla in 2022 reached $81.5 billion.

2021: Tesla’s net revenues grew sharply in 2021 compared to 2020. the company experienced 71% growth in its total net sales in 2021 compared to the last year. Its net revenues in 2021 reached $53.8 billion compared to $31.5 billion in 2020. The company generated $47.2 billion from the sales of autombies in 2021 compared to $27.2 billion in 2020. The automotive revenues of Tesla increased by 73% in 2021 compared to the previous fiscal. Its revenues from services and other sources remained $3,802 million in 2021 compared to $2,306 million in 2020. Tesla generated $2,789 million from the sales of energy generation and storage products in 2021 compared to $1,994 million in 2020.

2019: Automotive segment is the largest source of revenue for Tesla automobiles. The automobile segment generated around 85% of the net revenue of Tesla Motors in 2019. Net revenue of the company from sales of vehicles grew to $20.8 billion compared to $18.5 billion last year. Services and other segment generated around $2.2 billion in net revenue in 2019 compared to $1.4 billion in 2018. Energy generation and storage segment generated $1.53 billion in 2019 compared to $1.56 billion in 2018. Total net revenue of Tesla in 2019 reached $24.58 billion in 2019 compared to $21.5 billion in 2018. 

2018: Automotives are the largest source of revenue for the brand accounting for more than 85% of the brand’s revenue in 2018. The total revenue of the brand from the automotive segment in 2018 was $18.5 Billion, an increase of around $9 Billions over the previous year. Energy generation and storage segment accounted for around $1.6 Billion and the services and other segment generated around $1.4 Billion in revenue.
