Chick-fil-A is a family owned QSR business headquartered in Atlanta, United States. S Truett Cathy opened the business in 1946 when he started an Atlanta diner known as the Dwarf Grill in 1946 with his brother Ben.

Cathy founded and opened the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in 1967 in Atlanta. Based on annual systemwide sales, Chick-fil-A is now the largest QSR chicken restaurant chain in the United States and the leading competitor of KFC. Dan T Cathy is the current CEO and chairman of Chick-fil-A. 

The number of Chick-fil-A restaurants operational at the end of 2021 was 2,325 compared to 2,219 at the end of 2020. The company has only five franchised locations outside the United States, all of which are located in Toronto, Canada.
