In 2022, BMW’s total sales of vehicles fell compared to 2021. The company sold 157,329 units in 2022 compared to 164,344 units in 2021. BMW group also sold 254,292 units in 2022 in Germany compared to 266,818 units in 2021. Its total sales in 2022 in the European markets reached 878,515 units compared to 949,124 units in the prior year. The sales of the BMW group in 2022 in the US decreased to 363.5 thousand units compared to 368 thousand in the prior year. Asia sales of the BMW group decreased to 1.031 million units in 2022 compared to 1.067 million units in 2021.

In 2021, BMW sales of vehicles grew compared to the previous year. The company sold 2.52 million units of vehicles globally in 2021 compared to 2.325 million units in 2020. Sales increased across Asia, Europe and the Americas. However, BMW’s sales in its domestic market remained lower in 2021 compared to 2020. The company sold 949.1k vehicles in Europe including 266.8k in Germany and 164.3k in the UK. In the previous year, it had sold 285k vehicle units in Germany and 163.2k units in the UK. Its sales in the US increased to 368k units in 2021 from 307.9k units in the previous year. BMW sales in China touched an all time high in 2021 when it sold 847.9k vehicles there compared to 778.4k vehicles in 2020. 2021 proved to be a bumper year for BMW in terms of global sales and revenues.

In 2018, BMW’s deliveries of vehicles fell in UK but rose in Germany, USA and China compared to 2017. Europe saw lower overall deliveries in 2018 as compared to the previous year but Americas and Asia saw higher overall deliveries. Overall deliveries in other markets were also lower as compared to 2017. China remained the leading market with overall 640,800 units delivered.

China was the leading market for BMW in 2017 where it sold the highest number of vehicles followed by USA, Germany and UK. Mainland China accounted for sales of more than 590,000 vehicles in 2017. This was around 74,000 higher than the previous year. In the USA sales of BMW vehicles declined as compared to the previous year. In 2017, BMW sold around 353800 vehicles. this number exceeded 366,000 previous year.
