After the separation Hewlett Packard company changed its name to HP Inc. The brand has achieved some serious growth since it separated from HPE. Having overtaken Lenovo, HP has become the biggest PC maker of the world. In 2016, the brand acquired the printing business by Samsung which has also helped it gain momentum. However, given the decline experienced by the PC and printing businesses in the recent years, HP has acquired some impressive strength.

The computing industry is an intensely competitive industry and due to the intense competition, the spending on research and development is also higher. HP has continued to spend 1.2 Billion dollars over the previous three years on research and development.
