Renault group is one of the major producer of vehicles with a global footprint. However, its largest market is Europe and specifically its home market France. The brand’s alliance with Nissan and Mitsubishi has proved great. This alliance has become the largest seller of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles globally. Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi alliance achieved sales of more than 10.6 million vehicles in 2017. Renault itself achieved a record sales of 3.76 million vehicles in 2017. Sales volume and market share of the brand increased in all its markets in 2017.
Vehicle industry is marked by intense competition and as a result brands are focusing heavily on research and innovation for market growth. Renault’s R&D expenditure increased from 2.4 Billion Euros to 2.6 Billion Euros in 2017 from previous year.
